After moving to Tranent from Edinburgh city centre I was expecting to be a little disappointed with local restaurants but Giancarlos was great food and the staff were very friendly! We were a fairly large group and they were able to accommodate us at short notice on a busy Saturday evening. Even with a restaurant full out group still all felt very well tended to. Would definitely recommend the pate.
Very pleasant atmosphere and staff. The starter, mozzarella and tomato with basil pesto, was slightly bland and would've been spiced up with a little salad perhaps. The main was on the cold side even when supposedly heated up. Pizzas looked fabulous though
Used to be my favourite Italian in all of Scotland and I'd been looking forward to a sit down pizza there the whole way through my last chemo session. The food still tastes great but the roughly 12 inch pizzas now come with barely 5 inches of cheese topping. Who wants to eat acres of crust.Disappointed.
